Watch: Prey Alone

Since there won’t be any substantial movie news until early 2008, I figured I’d dig up a few independent short films to keep you occupied until then.

The action short PREY ALONE, from Irish filmmakers/FX gurus Saint and Mather, revolves around an NSA agent’s enduring pursuit of an elusive criminal. A prisoner inadvertently gives up a clue that leads to the man’s whereabouts, but when the strike team arrives they get more than they bargained for, leading to an explosive sequence with Harrier jets chasing a speeding vehicle through a city tunnel.

The entire thing was shot on greenscreen, with practically everything but the actors later generated by computers, and despite the limited resources the finished work is exciting and sleek. And impressive enough to land the duo a Hollywood project — they’re attached to helm Rogue Pictures’ adaptation of the Devil’s Due WWII action comic LOST SQUAD.
