We Talk Lego Ninjago Movie with Chan, Franco, Munn, Theroux and more!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

You know where a great place to have a junket is? Well, if it’s THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE, you can bet that it’s gonna be at Legoland, California. And frankly, everything was awesome. It also helps that the movie is so much fun. Directed by Charles Bean, Paul Fisher and Bob Logan, this clever send up of all things ninjas and giant kittens will put a big old smile on your face. And then there is the cast! You have Jackie Chan, Dave Franco, Fred Armisen, Kumail Nanjiani, Abbi Jacobson, Zach Woods, Olivia Munn and Justin Theroux. You know you want to see this Lego extravaganza!

This was my first time at Legoland, and I can definitely say it will be difficult to beat this particular experience. In between rides, we sat down with a few of the cast members to chat all about NINJAGO and so much more. It was especially exciting sitting down with the legendary Jackie Chan, as well as one of the coolest guys around, Mr. Dave Franco. The two talked about their on-screen relationship, and how the fight sequences are based on real life moves. Mr. Franco opened up about taking on the lead role and constantly worrying about being fired… He had nothing to worry about, as he is pretty terrific here.

Next up we sat with Fred Armisen and Abbi Jacobson. Now this interview is filled with puns and it was incredibly enjoyable. The two discussed taking on the comedic elements in LEGO NINJAGO, and from there it went in a very entertaining direction. Something about Fred on Portlandia, and so much more. And speaking of awesome, we also chatted with Kamail and Zach – both of whom are a blast in the new film. In fact, Mr. Woods plays one of my favorite characters in the LEGOverse. His “real teenager” character is a great example of somebody gleefully trying to fit in with those around him.

Finally, we had the great pleasure of talking LEGO with Mr. Theroux and Ms. Munn. I’m a fan of both of these two, and frankly, you could call Olivia an old friend to JoBlo. Thankfully, I brought a Lego weapon to share with Justin, as he discussed playing a Lego bad guy. Olivia gave a little love to this here site, and she also talked about being a part of this charmingly cool flick. If you are a fan of THE LEGO MOVIE and LEGO BATMAN, you won’t want to miss THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE opening this Friday at a theatre near you.
