Antebellum, Janelle Monae, V For Vendetta, Blu-ray

Despite it being Election Day in the United States, boxes full of brand-new Blu-rays are still headed our way. This week sees the release of ANTEBELLUM, starring Janelle Monáe, for a film that shares what happens when a successful author finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it's too late. Directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, Antebellum stands as one of this year's newer releases, during a time when COVID-19 has decimated Blu-ray shelves and then some.

Also hitting Blu-ray this week is director Matt Eskandari's HARD KILL, starring Bruce Willis and Jesse Metcalfe. In the film, the work of billionaire tech CEO Donovan Chalmers (Willis) is so valuable that he hires mercenaries to protect it, and a terrorist group kidnaps his daughter just to get it.

If the latest Bruce Willis joint isn't piquing your interest perhaps you'd be down to own LET'S SCARE JULIE, a horror-thriller from director/writer Jud Cremata, which depicts what happens when a group of teen girls set out to scare their reclusive new neighbor, but the prank turns to terror when some of them don't come back.

Still not convinced that you should open your wallet for this week's releases? Well, what if I told you that both Games of Thrones: The Complete Collection and V FOR VENDETTA both are due to arrive in a gorgeous 4K Blu-ray format? Ah, I've got your attention now, don't I? Both are bound to look stunning in 4K, and hey, I bet GOT's "The Long Night" episode won't look nearly as dark as to when it first premiered. Is that worth the price of admission? Only you can decide.

Other films getting a Blu-ray release this week include A CAT IN PARIS, CHICO & RITA, I AM WOMAN, SEVEN SINNERS, THE VEIL, and much more!
