What’s New to Watch on Blu-ray: Force of Nature, A Dog’s Courage and more!

Force of Nature, Mel Gibson, A Dog's Courage

Tomorrow is Tuesday, and so new Blu-rays are bound for retail shelves once more! Leading a very thin pack of new releases this week is director Michael Polish's FORCE OF NATURE, starring Mel Gibson, Emile Hirsch, and Kate Bosworth. For the upcoming action-drama, a gang of thieves plan a heist during a hurricane and encounter trouble when a cop tries to force everyone in the building to evacuate. The film is written by Cory M. Miller, and also stars David Zayas, Stephanie Cayo, and William Catlett.

Also throwing this week a bone is Well Go USA Entertainment's A DOG'S COURAGE, an animated adventure directed by Chun Baek Lee and Seong-yun Oh. In the film, stray dogs who have been abandoned by humans find "a place without humans" and realize their identities and the meaning of freedom and self-identity.

If you're a music fan, you might want to check out STREET SURVIVORS: THE TRUE STORY OF THE LYNYRD SKYNYRD PLANE CRASH, as directed by Jared Cohn. According to IMDB, the movie centers on drummer Artimus Pyle's experience as a band member in Lynyrd Skynyrd and the tragically fateful day the plane they rented that crashed in the late evening in the swamps of Gillsburg ,MS on October 20th,1977 and took the lives of singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines,his sister back up singer Cassie Gaines, road manager Dean Kilpatrick and the two pilots. This movie focuses on the hours leading up to and the day of the event and the aftermath.

Joining the aforementioned releases on Tuesday, June 30 is Criterion's COME AND SEE, as well as ORCA: THE KILLER WHALE. If you're an anime fan, you might be interested to know that complete series releases for ASTROGANGER and NINJA SCROLL are also due to arrive.
