Xavier Dolan and Will Beinbrink to float as cast members of It: Chapter Two

New Line has welcomed two new cast members to director Andy Muschietti's IT: CHAPTER TWO, the sequel to the 2017 reboot of Stephen King's classic tale of terror. The second installment continues the sinister saga of the Losers' Club kids – now adults – as they return to Derry in an attempt to once again thwart the effots of an ancient demon known to them as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. So far, the sequel has cast James McAvoy as Bill, Bill Hader as Richie, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stanley, Jay Ryan as Ben and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike. Of course, Bill Skarsgard is also set to reprise his role as Pennywise.

When Dolan and Beinbrink make their way to the sleepy town of Derry, Maine, Dolan will play Adrian Mellon, a gay man living in Derry who was viciously attacked by bullies. Meanwhile, Beinbrink is set to portray Tom Rogan, an abusive lover from Beverly's past.

Gary Dauberman, who penned the screenplay for the 2017 reboot will return to write the sequel, while Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee and Dan Lin are set to return producers of the film. Despite rumors that the film had already moved into production, it's been established that shooting for the sequel will begin next month with a planned release date of September 9, 2019.

As a a Québécois filmmaker, Dolan has been making a name for himself in the film industry since his release of the semi-autobiographical debut feature, I KILLED MY MOTHER, at age 19. Since that time, Dolan has been celebrated as a unique talent among his peers, particularly after winning the Ecumenical Jury Prize, the Grand Prix at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival as well as César Awards for Best Director and Best Editing for his film IT'S ONLY THE END OF THE WORLD.

When Beinbrink joins the cast of IT: CHAPTER TWO, he'll find himself reunited with McAvoy, Hader, and Chastain, who all worked together on Ned Benson’s three-part film, THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ELENOR RIGBY.
