You can now make Rey's portion bread from Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The second we all saw Rey make her quick-rising portion bread in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, we wondered to ourselves how we could possibly make that for ourselves. Was it special effects? Was it some real-life concoction the magicians over at Lucasfilm and Disney were able to craft?

You no longer have to ponder the answers as, thanks to StarWars.com, you can now make your own portion bread quickly and easily. It takes less than a minute and, from a look at the recipe, appears to taste rather sweet. I know what I'm going to be making for a snack sometime over the weekend. How about you?

  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons cake flour
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Place the oil in a mug and swirl around to grease the inside.
  2. Add the cake flour, sugar, matcha powder, baking powder and salt into the mug, stirring together.
  3. Pour in the milk and vanilla, then cook in the microwave on high for 45 seconds.
  4. Let cool slightly and serve.

Voila!! You might as well start looking for places to live on Jakku while you're at it, too.
