Young Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle cast in Fox’s Gotham

And your next Batman is…David Mazouz.

Okay, not really, but he will be our next young Bruce Wayne for Fox's Gotham TV show. Mazouz recently starred as Kiefer Sutherland's son in the short-lived Touch. Although, Mazouz will play a young Bruce Wayne, WB was adament in the casting announcement that he "will not at any point become Batman in the show," which may sound obvious, but it's best to put it out there before rabid fanboys even give it a second thought.

Here's the description of Mazouz's Bruce Wayne:

"Mazouz will play boy who leans on his butler Alfred and Commissioner James Gordon for guidance after his wealthy parents are murdered. Bruce Wayne has traditionally been the alter ego of the Caped Crusader."

In addition to Mazouz, Camren Bicondova (from the TV show Battlefield America) has been cast as a young Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) who is described as "a teenage orphan and street thief who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable."

It's hard to comment on either casting as I know very little about either actor, but they're kids, so it's usually a toss up. I only saw one episode of Touch and instantly lost interest when Sutherland never branded a gun or yelled to know where something was. This is the final piece of series regulars casting as Gotham heads into production this month. I'm intrigued to see what they do with this show, as the casting thus far has been interesting and the thematic elements sound promising.

Gotham is set to debut this fall on Fox.
