Next season’s American Horror Story will feature another familiar face

American Horror Story is gearing up to shoot its sixth season, the theme of which has yet to be announced. However, there's good news coming down the pike. The upcoming season will feature a familiar face, character actor Leslie Jordan. Although he might not be a household name, you've almost definitely seen him around.

A diminuitive and charming Southerner, Jordan has appeared in films and TV shows as varied as THE HELP, Will & Grace, and JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY (as the husband to burly diner owner Joey). He previously appeared in the third season of American Horror Story, Coven. You may remember him as Quentin Fleming, a member of the Witches' Council who gets a nasty comeuppance from a melon-baller wielding Myrtle Snow (Frances Conroy).

In an interview with Washington Blade, Jordan confirmed:

On July 7, I go back to “American Horror Story” with Lady Gaga, isn’t that fun? I did one season on “Coven.” They offered me another season but I got offered a reality show in London and I needed the money. Let me tell you, those reality shows pay a lot of money. So I turned down “Freak Show,” biggest mistake of my life. I didn’t think Mr. (Ryan) Murphy would want me again because I turned him down, but he did.

This definitely confirms that Lady Gaga will be coming back to the show. Although she was hardly as well received as Jessica Lange, she actually won a Golden Globe for her performance, so there's no way they weren't going to get her back. They need all the buzz they can get after the tremendously scatterbrained Hotel.

Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, and Matt Bomer will also be returning for the next season, which is "working with two ideas at once" and might involve "the opera" in some way.
