Oblivion’s Olga Kurylenko to star in sleep paralysis supernatural thriller Mara

Yesterday we told you about ROOM 237 director Rodney Ascher's upcoming documentary THE NIGHTMARE which will focus on the demonic visions experienced by victims of sleep paralysis, and now we have another film coming our way that is based around the strange condition of sleep paralysis, and this one sounds equally as freaky.

Solution Entertainment Group and Room 101 have announced that OBLIVION's Olga Kurylenko will star in the supernatural horror film MARA.

Myles Nestel, Steven Schneider (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, INSIDIOUS), Scott Mann and James Edward Barker will produce.

Clive Tonge is making his directorial feature debutĀ from an original collaboration with Jonathan Frank (THE TOURNAMENT), based on the mythology and true phenomena of sleep paralysis, commonly known as Sudden Unexpected Nocturnal Death Syndrome (SUNDS). Shooting begins May 2014.

Here's the early synopsis:

Criminal psychologist Kate Fuller (Kurylenko) is assigned to the murder of a man who has seemingly been strangled in his sleep by his wife and the only witness is their eight-year-old daughter, Sophie. As Kate digs into the mystery of an ancient demon which kills people in their sleep, she experiences the same petrifying symptoms as all previous victims and spirals through a chilling nightmare to save herself and Sophie before she dares fall asleep again.
