Official poster of Stephanie Meyer’s The Host looks just like…the book cover?

I guess that’s a good thing for the fans, right?  For me, this is kind of ho-hum, but I’m definitely not the target audience for Stephanie Meyer tween fiction.  So, for those who are, we have a look at the first official poster for THE HOST.

Based on the best-selling novel by TWILIGHT SAGA author Stephenie Meyer, THE HOST is a riveting story about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war.  Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact.  Most of humanity has succumbed.

Soooo, Twilight meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers?  And, yes, I will always refer to a Stephanie Meyer project as “Twilight meets ?”

Could you imagine this thing directed by Verhoeven?  Oh, the possibilities…

THE HOST is gonna tease you incessantly with official images, teases, and awful fan-made posters until it arrives on March 29, 2013.  The world may have ended by then, however, so many of you will get out of this one.  Maybe.
