Paul W.S. off Spy Hunter?

Mr. Paul W.S. Anderson ain’t about to repeat himself, people. You know that movie he did about the cars and the exploding cars and the driving of the cars? He did it too well… Anderson tells IGN that he’s done with motor vehicles, hence he’s most likely not directing SPY HUNTER, which he’s been attached to for about a year.

“I kind of feel for me now that I’ve done cars,” he said when asked about the game-to-film adaptation. “In every conceivable way, in every conceivable stunt, in the most spectacular practical fashion, we’ve done as many car crashes as I can conceive of putting on film. We did it with machine guns and rocket launchers and flamethrowers. So I feel like I’m going to give cars a rest for a little while.”

All that said, the script is already written and it may fall into someone’s else’s hands… Anderson, when I spoke to him in Montreal last year, said his next intended job is a remake of the British crime thriller THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY. He’s done with video games, it’s all about remakes now…

Anderson’s main squeeze… Maybe I’m just bitter…
