Perlman new Bubba?

AICN scored some f*cking awesome news this morning after chatting with actor Paul Giamatti (you know, the main badguy from SHOOT ‘EM UP, among others). Giamatti is starring as Col. Parker in Don Coscarelli’s follow up to BUBBA HO-TEP, BUBBA NOSFERATU, and dropped a line about who will likely be taking over the role of Elvis now that Bruce Campbell has expressed no interest in returning to the sequel.

Not that the title of this article gave it away or anything, but apparently Ron Perlman, the big red bastard in HELLBOY II among about a thousand other genre flicks, is in negotiations to take over as Elvis and fight that evil vampire Nosferatu!

Nobody can really replace Bruce Campbell, because let’s face it… the guy’s amazing, and he’s one-of-a-kind. But Perlman as his replacement? That’s genius casting right there. Genius! You can’t top Campbell, but you can definitely find someone to match him, and Perlman is the perfect choice to do so!

But don’t take my word for it, take it from Giamatti himself: …we have got Ron Perlman interested in playing Elvis. Brief, direct, and to the effing point, isn’t he?

Now before you take shots and party at the news, remember that this is just ‘talk’ at this point, no official announcement has been made, and even Giamatti used the word ‘interested’ not ‘he’s on board 100%’ so, as always with something like this, take this with a grain of salt. In fact, do one better, and click HERE to read the entire interview and see for youself.

Perlman as the new Elvis? BUBBA NOSFERATU without Campbell? Spit some bullets below and let us know what YOU think about all this!
