Renée Zellweger plays a dangerous game in Netflix’s What/If teaser trailer

Relationships are often like a body of water in that when someone casts a stone into the blissful calm, ripples can echo out, effecting everything within the splash zone. All it takes is a pebble to disturb the tide. And in the case of relationships, you only need a manipulative third party to make waves for a deadly undertow.

Today Netflix has unveiled a sleek and sultry teaser trailer for WHAT/IF, a Neo-noir social thriller that explores the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things. When the drama unfolds, the 10-episode series will focus on a mysterious woman's lucrative, but dubious offer to a cash-strapped pair of San Francisco newlyweds.

Leading the cast is JERRY MACGUIRE and COLD MOUNTAIN alumna Renée Zellweger, who will be joined by Jane Levy (CASTLE ROCK), Blake Jenner (GLEE, THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN), Samantha Ware (BARRY, MARGOT VS. LILY), Keith Powers (STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON, FAMOUS IN LOVE), Daniella Pineda (JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM), Juan Castano (SHADES OF BLUE), John Clarence Stewart (MARVEL'S LUKE CAGE), Louis Herthum (WESTWORLD, TRUE BLOOD), and Dave Annable (BROTHERS & SISTERS).

Executive producing WHAT/IF is showrunner Mike Kelley, Melissa Loy, Alex Gartner, Charles Roven, Robert Zemeckis, and Jack Rapke. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. will produce for Netflix.

Netflix will invite subscribers to the debauchery of the bourgeoisie that is WHAT/IF worldwide on May 24, 2019.
