Star Wars adds Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen to its casting line-up

Casting for a Star Wars film is a tricky thing, because it’s mostly about choosing the right people over the popular ones. Sure, there have been a few misfires, but even the seasoned actors may show a bit of a struggle. As Harrison Ford has said, “George, you can type this shit, but you sure can’t say it!”. Here’s hoping that the newest cast members of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII have no problem in that department!

Joining the cast will be Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen. Clarke is a newcomer who’ll be seen acting alongside Pierce Brosnan in THE MOON AND THE SUN, which is scheduled for a 2015 release, before STAR WARS: EPISODE VII hits theaters. Pip Andersen, on the other hand, has been seen showing off his atheltic prowess via MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge.

Producer Kathleen Kennedy had this to say about the casting:

The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII, we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many traveled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film.

Lucasfilm has also scheduled a two-week hiatus in August. This will most likely allow time for Harrison Ford to finish his physical therapy and get back on set. The good news is that the film is still on schedule to wrap this Fall, and in turn make it’s December 18th release date in 2015. As much as I might miss having a Star Wars film release in May, I’d rather get it 5 months earlier, thank you very much!

We’ll see what acting chops Crystal and Pip have in store for us come the release of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII on December 18, 2015.

Alright, Pip has a few moves.
