Stranger Things novel is about Eleven’s mom and Dr. Brenner

A novel set in the world of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things is set to be released soon (and you can pre-order a copy of it at THIS LINK), but it's not likely that your favorite characters from the show are going to have a prominent role in the book. Unless Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) and Terry Ives (Aimee Mullins, pictured above) were your favorite characters.

Written by Gwenda Bond and titled Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds, this novel is a prequel that will tell us more about

Eleven’s mother and her time as a test subject in the MKUltra program, which the series has only begun to scratch the surface on.

At the time of the show's events, Eleven's mother has been left in a catatonic state by the things she endured in the MKUltra program.

A prequel is probably the best way to delve into the world of Stranger Things without stepping on the toes of the show. I wouldn't expect to see a novel about the main kid characters taking on creatures from the Upside Down, because that's the territory of their live action adventures.

The product of a collaboration between Netflix and Penguin Random House imprint Del Rey, Suspicious Minds is expected to be the first in a series of Stranger Things novels that will "flesh out a collection of characters from the beloved show and dig deeper into its mythology."

Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds is scheduled to reach store shelves on February 5, 2019. The cover of the novel can be seen below, and if you'd like to get a preview of the first chapter of the book Entertainment Weekly has posted that HERE.
