The Hoff vs. Sharks! David Hasselhoff joins Sharknado 3

I've never hid the fact that I love the SHARKNADO series. Yes, I'm serious. I love those goofy ass flicks. I've been planning my SHARKNADO 3 viewing party since last year. Our drinking game of choice is "Spot the Celebrity Cameo", and by the end of last years SHARKNADO 2 everyone at the party was shitfaced drunk. Judging by the recent casting news for SHARKNADO 3 and all the celeb cameos they're planning for it, we might not even make it halfway through the film before being blackout drunk.

Now another name has joined the ever-growing cast of SHARKNADO 3 and this one is a doozy! Deadline is reporting that David Hasselhoff has signed on to play Fin’s (Ian Ziering) father in the third installment of Syfy’s highly successful B-movie franchise. Yes, The Hoff! Hope he brings his "Baywatch" skills and has K.I.T.T. on call for help.

Premiering on Syfy in July, SHARKNADO 3 will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., than roar down the Eastern Seaboard. Anthony C. Ferrante will once again direct, based on an original screenplay by Thunder Levin. The film is a production of The Asylum.

In addition to Ziering, Hasselhoff joins returning stars Tara Reid and Cassie Scerbo, along with Bo Derek, Ryan Newman and Jack Griffo. Additional cameo roles include Mark Cuban, Ann Coulter,  Jerry Springer, NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick and Chris Jericho.

Here's the plot:

When a mass of sharknadoes threatens Florida, chainsaw-wielding hero Fin must again risk his life to save his children on spring break. But as he fights his way south, the sharknadoes merge and grow bigger than ever before.

SHARKNADO 3 will air this July on Syfy.
