Formerly known as one of the Pretty Little Liars from that ABC Family / Freeform show, Shay Mitchell is now the star of creepy-looking horror film that will be arriving in theatres in just over a month.
Directed by Diederik Van Rooijen from a screenplay by Brian Sieve, that film was shot under the title CADAVER but is being released as THE POSSESSION OF HANNAH GRACE.
The synopsis:
A shocking exorcism spirals out of control, claiming the life of a young woman. Months later, Megan Reed (Mitchell) is working the graveyard shift in the morgue when she takes delivery of a disfigured cadaver. Locked alone inside the basement corridors, Megan begins to experience horrifying visions and starts to suspect that the body may be possessed by a ruthless demonic force.
Mitchell is joined in the cast by Stana Katic, Grey Damon, and Kirby Johnson.
A morgue is a troubling setting for a horror story (and this appears to be the most dimly lit morgue on the planet), plus I like the set-up of the body of someone who died during an exorcism still carrying its demonic passenger. THE POSSESSION OF HANNAH GRACE seems like it's going to be a pretty solid movie.
