Universal set to make a live-action Curious George with Shrek director

Give credit where credit is due over at the Universal lot, as they continue to build their brand of family entertainment that'll see them rolling in piles of box office cash for years to come. Already with DESPICABLE ME and THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS laying the groundwork for them and plenty more to come from Illumination Entertainment and DreamWorks Animation, Universal is exploring another property with mainstream appeal – CURIOUS GEORGE.

A live-action take on the popular series, written by Margret & H.A. Rey, is in the works with SHREK director Andrew Adamson taking the reins to helm and co-write the picture. CURIOUS GEORGE has already gotten the animated treatment in the past, both for feature films and television series, but this is the first time we'll be seeing him brought to life in what I would imagine would be a CGI/live-action hybrid.

Oh… Who will play the man with the yellow hat? Start making your picks now.
