Vance, Ellis, and Debicki travel to Lovecraft Country for Peele and Abrams

Executive producers Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams, along with director Yann Demange and writer Misha Green, are planning to take viewers through a place called Lovecraft Country, and they've just added three more actors to the cast that will be guiding us through.

Lovecraft Country is an HBO television series based on a novel by Matt Ruff that centered onĀ

25-year-old Atticus Black. After his father goes missing, Black joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America to find him. This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the malevolent spirits that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.

It was previously announced that Jonathan Majors will be playing Atticus Black, with Jurnee Smollett-Bell as his hustler friend Letitia and Wunmi Mosaku as Letitia's less successful hustler sister Ruby.

Joining them are Courtney B. Vance (pictured above in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) as Atticus's Uncle George, publisher of the Safe Negro Travel Guide; Aunjanue Ellis as George's wife Hippolyta; and Elizabeth Debicki as Christina Braithwhite, "the only daughter of Samuel Braithwhite, the leader of a secret order calling themselves the Sons of Adam."

I haven't read the novel, but I'm going to guess that the Sons of Adam aren't a pleasant bunch to be around.

Lovecraft Country is expected to begin filming next month, with Demange directing from a script by Green. If you'd like to pick up a copy of the book while waiting for the series to reach HBO, you can do so at THIS LINK.
