Venom 2 & The Matrix 4 have an interesting connection

At any given moment, there are multiple movies shooting at the same time… but I would imagine that it’s rare that one of those movies actually captures the other movie shooting. It seems that Venom 2 and The Matrix 4 are two movies that share that connection.

While speaking with Screen Rant, Venom: Let There Be Carnage location manager Christopher Kusiak revealed just how The Matrix Resurrections can be seen in the film… from a certain point of view. Both Venom 2 and The Matrix 4 were filming in San Francisco at the same time, but it seems that the Venom sequel lost out on a number of locations due to The Matrix 4 getting there first.

Lots of stuff impacted filming. A lot of our driving shots went away because Matrix controlled all of downtown… We ended up moving a stunt up onto the top of the parking garage because we couldn’t get to the areas we wanted because of The Matrix. But if we would’ve been there first, it probably would’ve gone the other way. The helicopters were actually on the Matrix movie. The Matrix was filming at the same time so we were catching part of their activity on camera.

Once The Matrix Resurrections has been released, I’d imagine one enterprising fan might just try to sync up the two scenes. Bring on the Venom/Matrix multiverse!

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is now playing in theaters, so be sure to check out a review from our own Chris Bumbray and let us know what you thought of the film as well. As for The Matrix Resurrections, the much-anticipated sequel will feature the return of Keanu Reeves as Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity and was co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski. The sequel will hit theaters on December 22, 2021.
