White Men Can’t Jump reboot to star Jack Harlow after a slam-dunk audition

Musician Jack Harlow recently scored nothing-but-net during an audition for 20th Century’s White Men Can’t Jump reboot, marking his acting debut. Calmatic is directing a script by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall, with Barris and his Khalabo Ink Societyproducing. Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein are executive producing under their banner Mortal Media.

The White Men Can’t Jump reboot is a fresh take on Ron Shelton’s 1992 sports comedy, starring Woody Harrelson, Wesley Snipes, and Rosie Perez. The film follows Black and white basketball hustlers who join forces to double their chances of winning money on the street courts and in a tournament. Harlow will step into the role played by Harrelson. According to reports, Harlow scored the role after his first-ever screen audition. Barris was reportedly blown away by Harlow’s performance, as were the executives and filmmakers. As a bonus, Harlow also has some moves on the court. He recently participated in an NBA All-Star Weekend’s Celebrity Game, where he held his own on the court and then some.

The Louisville-bred Harlow is already an accomplished rapper, with his latest track “Nail Tech” being a hit on streaming platforms. Harlow will act in the White Men Can’t Jump reboot around his Forecastle Festival schedule. The celebration of sights and sounds will take place in Kentuck from May 27-30.
