Warner Bros. and producers of the HARRY POTTER franchise must be absolutely butt crazy in love with HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF PHOENIX director David Yates as, according to Ace Showbiz, after he’s wrapped work on the currently filming HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE, they plan on offering him the job to direct the franchise’ final film, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS. No offense to Yates but three in a row is a bit much based on an installment that wasn’t the best in the franchise by any means. What happened to Alfonso Cuaron coming back? Or possibly Guillermo Del Toro stepping in (impossible, sure, since he’s got about a billion projects on his plate right now but still, one can dream)? Or simply some fresh blood to send out the franchise with a bang? In any case, this is still just an internets rumor so we’ll let you know if/when it’s confirmed.
