Zack Snyder talks Man of Steel Easter egg and future films, plus new 13-minute featurette

POTENTIAL SPOILERS below the video if anyone is interested (Easter Egg material)…

When we see the trailers for MAN OF STEEL, many of us can already sense that the film will be good for not only Superman but comic movies alike. When director Zack Snyder was handed the job, he wanted to give it his all and do everything that he possibly could to make it memorable for viewers who had come to love the character. While some feel that maybe only Christopher Reeve‘s Superman saga has done right by the hero, Snyder may have very well surpassed that. If that’s the case, he would likely give all the props to his complete dedication to the material.

Recently, our very own Jimmy-O visited a press conference for MAN OF STEEL and got this quote from Snyder:

“We really wanted to focus one hundred percent on this movie, make sure it was awesome… and look I’d be naïve to say that our intent was only to make one movie but we haven’t really planned out. We really shot all our bullets and we did that on purpose because philosophically I believe that you don’t ever want to save anything, even if you feel like there might be a sequel. You should just jump it all, and then your problem then becomes – which is an uptown problem – what do we do now. If that day comes, you’re saying, well I put all the ideas in this movie, now what do I do and that is your problem. That is a great problem to have because you are basically saying that you achieved what you meant to achieve and now you are having to go forward. If that were to happen, you know, David [Goyer] and I have talked about roughly what we would do but we’re still trying to figure it out.”

We also have a 13-minute publicity special with great behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. There’s no spoilers and it’s way worth the watch if you want a greater insight into the flick.

Then with Collider.com, Snyder mentioned an Easter Egg in MAN OF STEEL for those wondering about any Batman/Superman crossovers:

“The Wayne Enterprises logo is on a satellite that Zod destroys.”

Will we see a film which will pair Batman and Superman?

“I don’t know. Everything is interesting at this point. And don’t forget that Lex is out there, doing who knows what…”
