It was far-fetched to think that any studio would greenlight a feature based on a low-rated, cult sci fi series on a small TV network yet Joss Whedon was able to take his much-loved "Firefly" and create the solid sci fi adventure SERENITY. So, though SERENITY's box office receipt wasn't the most impressive, and most people have ruled out the possibility of a sequel ever occurring, there could be something more than wishful thinking to Alan Tudyk recently mentioning to Moviehole that red hot sales of the SERENITY Special Edition DVD have prompted interest in a sequel, even if possibly just direct-to-DVD. Says the former pilot of the Firefly Class ship Serenity: "They had to put [the new DVD] out because they’ve been selling out of the other one and so Universal’s like ‘So, let’s do another one’. And now… there’s now a chance there’s going to be another movie.” Well, lookie there, Browncoats, you may get your sequel, after all. Read the rest of what he had to say over HERE.
Extra Tidbit:
SERENITY/"Firefly" alums have certainly moved on to bigger but not necessarily better things: Adam Baldwin is now on the very cool NBC show "Chuck", Nathan Fillion has taken up residence on Wusteria Lane on "Desperate Housewives" and Summer Glau will be seen wrecking shit the hell up on the upcoming mid-season show "The Sarah Connor Chronicles".

FUCK YEEESSS!!!
But lets not get too excited, we've been teased with this news before and it never turns out. Seriously, how do not all Sci-Fi fans love this universe. I think its a fucking shame that flicks like this got ignored in the theaters while pieces of crap like Revenge of the Sith rake it in just because Star Wars was good before it got raped by no story and reliance on cgi. There is more out there people...and if you are a Sci-Fi fan and have not yet seen Firefly or Serenity.....shame on you! |

PSEUDO-EXCITED
I am all for another installment, but with the changes that came from the movie (save spoilers), I don't know if things would be THE SAME. It might be as good, but if there IS more than rumor to this - and after getting a little more news about it - I'm sure I'm on board. |

'SERENITY 2: THE BIG DAMN SEQUEL'?
Or maybe, 'Serenity II: The Wrath of Early'?
:-)
And it'd be about time that we finally got some new Whedon (...and that we might get more Firefly too would make it that much better). |

ALSO....
Nate's guest starred on LOST as Kate's ex-husband, and Alan's been in 310 TO YUMA and KNOCKED UP in small roles. Just for trivia's sake. |

HMM...
I do love that poster...{as Summer Glau portrayed a sexy, enigmatic River with nice legs}....
I wasn't much a Firefly fan, but I did find it interesting. Serenity was okay; but I'm hoping the sequel can answer a few questions that were left over from the series. |

YAY!
A Serenity sequel would be awesome! I won't get my hopes up, but still, it'd be great to have more firefly/Serenity, even if it's a direct-to-dvd movie. |
