Tom Holland and Kevin Feige confirm Spider-Man had a cameo in Iron Man 2

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Now there's a fan theory out there (cue the eyerolls) that states Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spider-Man) actually already appeared in the MCU…and in IRON MAN 2 of all places! The theory states that the little kid in the Iron Man mask during the climax at the Stark Expo is none other than Peter Parker himself! Pretty far-fetched, huh?

Anyway, here's the scene in question, for reference:

However, here's what Tom Holland had to say about the theory in an interview with The Huffington Post:

“It is Peter Parker,” said Holland.

“It is?” we asked.

“I can confirm that, that is Peter Parker,” Holland said.

“No way, for sure?” we asked again.

“I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now,” said Holland. “It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.”

Now, I personally doubt that this was always intended to be Peter Parker (but rather just to show Iron Man's positive impact on the world), it is still a nice touch regardless. And since Holland said it might be a "spoiler" something tells me this actually might play into the HOMECOMING film itself, possibly in a flashback or something. Who knows? I guess we'll have to wait-and-see when the film comes out.

So what do you Schmoes think about this development? Sound off below!

Meanwhile, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will swing into theaters July 7th.
