1st SAW 6 casting

While SAW V wasn’t horrible, it wasn’t awesome either. I like how they tried and make it feel like a combination of all the other films’ in the series, and they did a decent job at that. It’s unavoidable success means we’ll definitely be seeing a SAW VI.

And we’ve been keeping you up to date on any SAW VI news that gets thrown out there. There’s already a director in the form of Kevin Greutert, writers in the form of SAW vets Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, and we’ve already got a release date already: October 24th, 2009. Now you can chalk up the first bit of casting news!

This comes from the reality series SCREAM QUEENS over on VH1. Now in case your not familiar with the reality show, here’s the rundown. SCREAM QUEENS featured a group of females all vying for a role in the upcoming SAW VI. They’d partake in various competitions where eventually judges John Homa, Shawnee Smith, and James Gunn would decide on a winner.

Well the show has come to a close and our congratulations go out to winner Tanedra Howard (below). Howard was announced the winner after re-enacting a scene from SAW 3. She is officially attached to be in SAW VI, though it is unknown as to how big of a role she’ll have. Now I didn’t get a chance to watch the series at all, so I have no idea if Howard is actually a decent actress or not. She’s the first official name to be announced, though I think it’s safe to awesome Tobin Bell will be back as the infamous Jigsaw, even though he died like seven sequels ago.

No plot details have been leaked yet, so keep it here for any and all SAW VI news as we hear it.
