2 for Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson is one badass motherf*cker. I have to say that, otherwise I feel he’ll come knocking on my door at 1:11 am and calmly ask me why I didn’t state that fact… then proceed to beat the hell out of me while reciting the Bible. Is that just me?

Anyway, it’s recently been announced that Mr. Jackson has been attached to two new flicks that I figured I’d tell you all about. The first would be the currently filming INGLORIOUS BASTERDS. You heard right, Sam Jackson has signed onto Quentin Tarantino’s INGLORIOUS BASTERDS. Now before you yelp with excitement, or hurl in disappointment, let me tell you exactly what Jackson will be doing.

According to The Playlist, Samuel Jackson will be doing the narration of Tarantino’s upcoming war movie. Apparently Jackson took it upon himself to call Quentin and ask what the dealio was. Why wasn’t he up for any casting? .. Alright then. Paired with this would be the fact that the Narrator actually isn’t even in the script that much. Looks like Jackson just really wanted to be a part of Tarantino’s potentially badass movie. I guess he was hoping for another role as sweet as his PULP FICTION one.

Well he might have just that in the second project Jackson has signed onto! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson has signed on to star in THE LAST DRAGON! Yes, they’re remaking the 1985 cult classic from Berry Gordy. And yes, Jackson will be playing the role of Sho’nuff.

For those unfamiliar with the original, Sho’nuff was the badass bad guy played by the late Julius Carry. The ‘Shogun of Harlem’ was known for shouting phrases like ‘Am I the baddest mofo lowdown around this town?’ Sounds like it’s right down Jackson’s alley! The original followed a young martial arts student in his quest through the streets of New York to achieve the highest level of martial arts accomplishment, known as the Last Dragon. Those who achieve the high ranking possess the Glow, making them the greatest fighter alive. This remake will go along the same lines with a script from Dallas Jackson. Dallas will also be producing along with Kerry Gordy and Davis Entertainement’s John Davis.

So there you have it. Sam Jackson will be a pretty busy man, hopefully bringing us some sweet narration and another badass performance.
