It’s actually a couple news bits in one, with both films being tied to the same writers/producers. You see BD are reporting that the duo of John and Paul Buckholts have just scored the rights to Stephen King’s short story HOME DELIVERY for their staple Our Thing Productions. Now HOME DELIVERY can be found in King’s NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES anthology and is about a young, pregnant widow whose husband recently died in a fishing boat accident. When reanimated dead bodies start attacking the living, the only defense is to destroy the dead and burn the pieces. It isn’t long before Maddie must confront the zombie of her dead husband and decide if she is strong enough to watch him die all over again. MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN’s Ryuhei Kitamura is already tapped to direct with the Buckholts adapting the script.
But that’s not all! The duo also broke the news that they’re working on a World War 2 vampire flick called THE BLEEDING. World War 2 and vampires? I’m down! They’ll be writing and producing that one with THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2’s Martin Weisz directing.
Now both flicks are in the early stages of development so who knows when we might actually be seeing them, if ever. Don’t worry though, as soon as we hear more on either flick we’ll be sure to pass along the word!
