Well, two more TWILIGHT pics have been shoved into the mass marketing pipeline. There’s one up top and there’s the other down below. Great. Uh, perhaps I’m in the minority, but I just don’t get the major hype being thrown all over this flick. I mean, just look at the guys in these pics. They all look like fair-skinned, feminine, frail freaks wearing friggin’ lipstick. Every time I see one of these characters I can’t help feeling a combiniation of both embarrassed and grossed out (and not in the good “horror” kind of way). It’s like they all desperately wanted to look exactly like their female co-star Kristen Stewart.
Perhaps I’m not in the minority after all, though. The Arrow held a MOVIE POLE not too long ago to see if people were really into Twilight or not at all. Guess which answer won convincingly. It was the one that said: I have no idea why peeps are going nuts over this! I couldn’t agree more.
Maybe I’m missing something. Here’s a full synopsis of the plot: In the small town of Forks, Washington, a young girl is about to endure the hardship of what is our modern Romeo and Juliet. Bella swan was about to start her new life as a junior. In a new school, and in a new town. When she moved to be with her father, she expected days of rain, school, and the reality that she was going to be alone. Until, she saw him. The boy with the auburn hair and the most beautiful attributes a human could have. Possibley too much for a human to have. What becomes lust and yearning for the wrong one. What’s been secretly told throughout time, becomes her reality to find out that the one she vies for, is as cold as ice, through and through. The one who aches for every drop of her blood, and the one who watches her every move from the shadows, is a vampire. This romance between mortal and vampire becomes, our romeo and Juliet. Two worlds torn apart by love, secrecy, and devotion to one another and endangers the world around them.
Okay, so it’s more of a love story with vampire elements, which practically guarantees a PG-13 rating. This in turn means that the blood-sucking elements will most likely be kept to a lame minimum. So all we’re really going to see is a bunch of perturbed, milk-skinned vampires flying around looking to find some extra dippity doo to keep their emo locks properly pushed up. Oh the horror, indeed.
