2 Terminators for McG?

For those basking in the glow of your HDTV as it plays the crystal clear images and incredible sound quality of your Blu-ray player, you may (or may not) have had a chance to play with BD-Live, where you can watch your Blu-ray movie and have a live chat with the film’s director or whatnot. It’s interactive, so therefore one step above just a regular ol’ film commentary.

The kats at Gizmodo got in touch with their BD-live feature for TERMINATOR SALVATION, and as director McG was on chatting with the viewers, he dropped a few bombs on those logged in. Not only will he be back for another TERMINATOR movie, but he’ll be back for two more TERMINATOR movies!

While I haven’t seen SALVATION yet, most say it was a pile of garbage, and considering it didn’t finish in the top 10 box office blockbusters of the summer (beat by THE PROPOSAL, among others), it’s surprising to hear he’s on board for two more flicks. Not to mention that Halycon, the company who currently owns the rights to the franchise, is planning on auctioning the franchise off within the next month or two to stay out of bankruptcy.

I’d hate to think that a seasoned director like McG would be blabbering about something like this to fans without there being some truth behind it. I mean, he has to know making a comment like that will spark news across the internets, right? You’d think so, anyway…

So according to McG, he’s directing the next two TERMINATOR films. When Halycon auctions off the franchise, all ties to the franchise will essentially be terminated. Least to say, we should take what McG had to say with a grain of salt, but who knows… maybe he knows something about this deal that we don’t.
