20,000 DAYS ON EARTH looks to emulate films that go behind-the-scenes on the lives of musicians, so that audiences can get a sneak peak of what it's like to live a seemingly superficial existence. Starring Nick Cave as himself, this movie looks to mix a documentary style with real music and some fictitious plot points in a 24-hour period, in hopes that it will congeal into an entertaining look at what a popular rock star may have to go through.

Check it out:

Here's the synopsis:

Drama and reality combine in a fictitious 24 hours in the life of musician and international cultural icon Nick Cave. With startlingly frank insights and an intimate portrayal of the artistic process, the film examines what makes us who we are, and celebrates the transformative power of the creative spirit.

I'm actually a big fan of this musical genre, and this film looks to give us a little bit of a skewed vision on the process, as opposed to the feel-good BEGIN AGAIN, or the 60s/70s vibe of ALMOST FAMOUS. I'm definitely intrigued to check this flick out and see if the performances and music are as compelling as they need to be to really sell this pseudo-documentary.

20,000 DAYS ON EARTH will see a limited release on September 17, 2014.

Adding a little Kylie Minogue certainly couldn't hurt.
