Once thought as the most expensive movie ever made, James Cameron’s AVATAR is now thought as one of the highest grossing films of all time, sitting pretty slightly behind THE DARK KNIGHT and Cameron’s TITANIC. While I thought the film was a visual masterpiece, I’m f*cking baffled by its success (and its speed of success, released just over a month ago) and how much people seem to flat-out love this movie (even my step-dad claims it was the best movie he’s ever seen). But I guess I’m the only one.
So for the rest of the planet who can’t seem to get enough, and in the wake of AVATAR winning the Best Picture nod at this past weekend’s Golden Globes, Yahoo!Movies has hooked ya’ll up with a featurette you’d have normally had to wait to catch in the Special Features section of the DVD. What a bunch of nice and considerate mofos, aren’t they?
The 22 minute (wow!) featurette is a special “Creating the World of Pandora” documentary filled with all the glorious aspects you’d expect from a ‘making of’ DVD feature. You get Cameron, you get Sam Worthington, and you get a shit ton of greenscreen action and CGI tricks. If you love AVATAR, then you’re not going to want to miss this!
Enjoy the featurette below, be sure to see AVATAR in the theater about 6 more times to help it dethrone TITANIC as the number one grossing film of all time, and cross your fingers that Cameron won’t wait another 12 years to make another feature film.
