Damn I love it when Gary Oldman plays a villain! TRUE ROMANCE, LEON, THE FIFTH ELEMENT – this guy always finds a way to bridge the cool with the deleterious.
Well we can further look forward to such a role in the new Hughes Brothers flick THE BOOK OF ELI, starring Denzel Washington in what looks to be an ass-kicking role for the ages. In the second trailer for the flick that we have for you below, both men offer a proof positive display of such an assertion.
In particular, the new trailer offers more action spectacle, has a gruf, laconic narration from Denzel, shows the debonaire menace of Oldman, and tries its hardest to ugly up the ageless Jennifer Beals (below). As you can guess, it fails in only one instance!
Just to keep the story straight, THE BOOK OF ELI is:
A post-apocalyptic tale, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind.
Set to open January 15, 2010 – THE BOOK OF ELI also stars Mila Kunis, Malcolm McDowell, Evan Jones, Michael Gambon, Ray Stevenson, Tom Waits, Lateef Crowder, and Frances de la Tour.
