I’ve always been a fan of the cult classic 1989 flick PUPPET MASTER. Disagree if you must but I find PUPPET MASTER to be awesome. It’s a brilliant idea and has just the right amount of actual 80s slasher-esque horror with the right amount of cheesy added in. Needless to say I’m a fan of the film. So consider my interest peaked at this latest bit of news coming in from Bloody Disgusting.
Apparently PUPPET MASTER creator Charles Band is looking to remake his classic horror film in 3-D. Now take this with a grain of salt because I don’t know how accurate it actually is… but this is the good word coming from the guys at B-D. What else have they heard? Nothing. So there you go.
If you’re a fan of the original film like I am, than that’s enough to get your interest peaked. Why the hell not. Everything else is getting remade, why not PUPPET MASTER? Though I hope they don’t go all horrible CGI with the puppets… the cheesy feel to them is what made it awesome. And let’s hope they keep the classic puppets like Blade, Pinhead, Tunneler, and of course, Six-Shooter… though I’m not against bringing in a few new homicidal marionettes. Oh… and they’re evil people… let’s not make them the protagonist like the franchise eventually did. Though I have faith in Band. We’ll keep a lookout for an official confirmation of this and will update you all once we hear more!
