I’m sure a lot of people out there are unaware that After Dark Films actually make movies unrelated to the After Dark Films’ 8 Films to Die For Horrorfest. Well, they do. Actually they’re working on one right now called HUSK and I’m here this morning to tell you about it!
The flick comes from writer/director Brett Simmons and follows five friends on a weekend trip who become stranded in isolated farmland when crows attack their SUV. They soon realize that the cornfields are inhabited by reanimated human scarecrows who reproduce by killing and force their undead victims to join their ranks. The Hollywood Reporter dropped word today that the film has already cast three roles!
Devon Graye (above), CJ Thomason and Wes Chatham have all signed on to star in HUSK. Graye will play the brainiac of the group while Thomason plays the blue-collar guy and Chatham plays the jock. The trio join the already signed Tammin Sursok. HUSK is currently filming in Iowa and will be hitting distribution via Lionsgate. Be sure to keep it here as we await any other news for HUSK.
