5 for Twilight

I first told you about TWILIGHT back in October. The movie is based off a novel by Stephanie Meyer and it revolves around a 17-year-old girl who moves to a small town to live with her father, and is drawn to a pale mysterious classmate who comes from a family of vampires.

Soon after that announcement, the casting started with the announcement that Kristen Stewart will be starring. Stewart is a genre regular with flicks like PANIC ROOM, COLD CREEK MANOR, and THE MESSENGERS. Then it was announced that Robert Pattinson had joined the cast, who’s best known as Cedric Diggory in the HARRY POTTER films.

And last week Eric pointed you towards an interview Kristen Stewart had. Well there’s been a mess of casting news recently, starting with B-D announcing that Kellan Lutz had joined. MTV is also reporting on four other names joining the cast, those names being: Nikki Reed (below), Rachelle Lefevre, Cam Gigandet, and Michael Welch.

TWILIGHT is coming from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg with Catherine Hardwicke directing. It’s currently filming in Portland, Oregon and is looking at a late-08, early 09 release. Unfortunately TWILIGHT is looking more like a soap opera than a vampire flick, but we can hope.
