50 Cent’s Bet

JoBloJoBlo

Cinematic legend 50 Cent (HOME OF THE BRAVE) and his vehicle LIVE BET have found a director in Alejandro Lozano. The script was originally written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides (who I don’t think have written anything major before, but Charley it seems was producer Scott Rudin’s assistant on CHANGING LANES, which was a movie I really dug) but is now being reworked by Lozano.

The movie centers around the underground world of drag-racing and the illegal heists that take place there. When talking about the decision to relocate from the movie’s original location – New York – to places such as Las Vegas and Philadelphia, Lozano says he “wanted to give the characters more soul… I didn’t want to make a film that just stayed an action film”. Does this mean that we’ll see 50 Cent up for an Oscar nomination? I doubt it. Does his involvement mean that he’ll be topless and punching people for at least a quarter of the movie? Yes, I would think so.
