65: Sam Raimi-produced thriller with Adam Driver gets new release date

65, a sci-fi thriller that’s coming our way from producer Sam Raimi and A Quiet Place (watch that one HERE) screenwriters Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, has had multiple release dates over the years, but details on the story have been scarce. Now Sony has given the film yet another release date – and this time they’ve unveiled a short synopsis as well!

ComicBook.com reminds us that 65 has previously been scheduled to reach theatres on May 13, 2022; April 29, 2022; April 14, 2023; and April 28, 2023. Its new release date is March 10, 2023.

Beck and Woods have written and directed 65, which we now know tells the story of

an astronaut who crash lands on a mysterious planet discovers that he is not alone.

So this project remains quite mysterious even now that we have a synopsis, but at least we know it’s about an astronaut on a different planet. Now we just have to wait and see what kind of company he has on that planet.

Raimi and Zainab Azizi produced 65 for Raimi Productions. Beck and Woods are also producing, under their Beck/Woods banner, alongside Debbie Liebling. Beck and Woods previously worked with Raimi on 50 States of Fright, the anthology series he was producing for the now-defunct streaming service Quibi. That show is now available to watch on The Roku Channel.

Adam Driver (the recent Star Wars trilogy) stars in 65 alongside two child actors, Ariana Greenblatt (Love and Monsters) and Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies).

The involvement of Sam Raimi is already enough to guarantee that I’ll be watching it at some point. I watch anything Raimi puts his name on.
