The premiere of director Adam Ripp's DEVIL'S WHISPER is still days away, it will be screening at the Dances With Films festival in Hollywood on June 10th, but the film has already secured a distribution deal in North America.

Vega Baby Releasing, through their agreement with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, will be giving DEVIL'S WHISPER a multiplatform release in North America sometime this fall.

The supernatural thriller claims, as so many movies of this type do, to be inspired by true events. It tells the story of

a 15-year-old who aspires to be a Catholic priest. When he discovers a mysterious box passed down from his grandparents, he unwittingly unleashes a demonic spirit bent on possessing him — and must find a way to defeat the demon, which has been tormenting children since the dawn of man, before it destroys him and everyone he loves.

Luca Oriel stars, along with Tessie Santiago, Marcos Ferraez, Rick Ravanello, Alison Fernandez, Coy Stewart, Jasper Polish, Justin Tinucci, Benjamin A. Hoyt, and Luna Maya.

Ripp crafted the story with screenwriters Oliver Robins and Paul Todisco. He also produced the film with Manoj Punjabi, Mark Stolaroff, and Liam Finn. MD Pictures provided the funding.

I'll have to see a trailer to gauge my interest in DEVIL'S WHISPER. It really depends on how the demonic spirit is portrayed – I'm hoping for something more along the lines of THE EVIL DEAD than THE EXORCIST.
