Avengers: Endgame clip finds Captain Marvel taking charge

**Anyone who wants to go in fresh for AVENGERS: ENDGAME turn back now**

AVENGERS: ENDGAME hits theaters in a little over two weeks, and while we probably won’t get any spoiler-y trailers in that time the first clip from the movie does give some insight into some fresh character dynamics. Namely, this means the surviving Avengers we’ve come to know and love getting to know the newest member of the team – Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) – and in the clip, she quickly asserts herself and proves why she’s as capable of leading the team as the other Captain in the room.

Our own Paul Shirey was at CinemaCon last week where they showed off a clip from the movie to the crowd. While the one he described seemed to go on a bit longer and have some more elements, it seems this is at least some form of the one they were shown at the convention. We see the team figuring out the best play against Thanos (Josh Brolin), with Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and James Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle) skeptical about the plan of attack. Danvers assures them with her on their side they will come out on top this time, with Thor giving his own wordless sign of approval.

While there will likely be more clips and videos put online before the premiere two weeks from now, my hope is they don’t go all out and unveil a ton of scenes for the movie. I love the concept of everything being kept in the dark until we all get to see it for ourselves if all for the sake of a fresh viewing experience. It’s hard to avoid that stuff when it’s your job to leap into the fray, but my aim is to see as little of this three-hour movie before I get to sit in my comfy theater chair.

Here's the synopsis:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios' grand conclusion to twenty-two films, "Avengers: Endgame."

AVENGERS: ENDGAME is in theaters April 26.
