Sources have told New York Post's Page 6 English singer-songwriter Sam Smith has been tapped to sing the theme song for BOND 24. According to the site's sources, Smith has been in negotiations with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli about singing the theme, and he was picked over Lana Del Rey, who apparently lobbied hard for the gig. Although a representative for Lana Del Rey didn't respond, a rep for Sam Smith told Page 6, “That is not confirmed.”

I actually had to look up Sam Smith, but then realized I have heard at least one of his songs, and I think he'll do a solid job with the theme for BOND 24, if this rumor is true of course. There are some who didn't care for SKYFALL, but I think most would agree Adele's theme song for it was pretty awesome, and it's going to be hard for Smith to top her Academy Award winning Bond song. Will you be happy if Sam Smith ends up singing the theme for BOND 24, or is there someone else you think would be better behind the microphone for the song?

Sam Mendes' BOND 24 is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2015.
