Back in March, Will Forte said he still wants to make a sequel to MACGRUBER, and he had come up with a "really solid" first act with screenwriter/director Jorma Taccone. In an interview with Collider, the actor was asked to give an update on the project, and he says he recently received an outline for MACGRUBER 2 from Taccone.

Jorma [Taccone] just sent an outline for MacGruber 2. We had worked together on something and I had fleshed out the first act of MacGruber 2. He took that and went nuts on the rest of it. I’m very excited because I feel like at some point, if somebody will let us do it, then we’ll do it. But it’s out of our hands. But we’re writing it for sure.

Forte was also asked if he ever gets sick of people asking him about MACGRUBER 2.

No, it is very exciting because it means that people liked the first MacGruber. Unless they are saying, “Are you serious about Macgruber?"

Of course, even if they do complete a script it doesn't mean a sequel will definitely happen. If Will Forte and company end up having trouble finding funding for the project, Collider thinks they should look into using Kickstarter, and I think that's actually not a bad idea. Do you think Will Forte will ever get to make MACGRUBER 2?
