Michael Keaton gets nuts in this great teaser trailer for Birdman

I miss Michael Keaton. The man was an 80s staple, from MR. MOM to BEETLEJUICE to BATMAN. Regardless of the quality of films he’s in these days, I love to see him pop up. He was my favorite part of THE OTHER GUYS . . . and almost convinced me to see the latest ROBOCOP. Fortunately, I don’t have to stomach that in order to get my fix, as he’s heading up a film of his own, BIRDMAN. If you’re not familiar with the premise, a teaser trailer has hit that really nails the vibe.

Get your dose of crazy Keaton here:

The synopsis goes a little something like this:

A washed-up actor who once played an iconic superhero must overcome his ego and family trouble as he mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim his past glory.

Looks like a much darker WALTER MITTY, if you ask me. Nothing against Stiller, but I’d much rather watch Michael Keaton‘s take on a madman any day of the week and twice on Sundays. The supporting cast is pretty great to boot, so you can bet your ass I’ll see Bruce Wayne go nuts this fall.

BIRDMAN, starring Michael Keaton, Ed Norton, Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis, Naomi Watts, Amy Ryan and Andrea Riseborough, and will be released on October 17, 2014.
