Will Simon Pegg make an appearance in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII?

Here's a delicious rumor to start your day. Sources have told IGN Middle East Simon Pegg was on the STAR WARS: EPISODE VII set in Abu Dhabi, and shot scenes for a "secret role" in J.J. Abrams' upcoming film. However, before some of you get too excited, don't forget what Pegg has previously said about possibly starring in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.

I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest. I think J.J. should cast new faces with no stunt casting.

Perhaps Simon Pegg changed his mind, or maybe he was just visiting J.J. Abrams on the Abu Dhabi set since he worked with Abrams on the STAR TREK flicks and is a huge STAR WARS fan. While I doubt he will have a big role in EPISODE VII, I could see him doing a cameo, or hanging out in the background of a random scene in the film. We probably aren't going to get a confirmation or denial from either J.J. Abrams or Simon Pegg, so we're likely going to have to wait until the movie is released before we know if there's any truth to this rumor.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will open on December 18, 2015.
