I Want That: Angry Birds Star Wars is coming November 8th!

What do you get when you cross one of the most profitable film franchises of all time with one of the biggest video game franchises of the last decade? You get Angry Birds: STAR WARS!

I am a sucker for the Angry Birds games. So far, the best one has been the one inspired by the animated film RIO, which I am sure made the game designers wonder what other films they could mine using their gaming format. Angry Birds is similar to Lego in that you can take almost anything and mold it with the general scope of the game. I am just surprised it took this long for the STAR WARS branding machine to grab hold.

The official Tumblr for Angry Birds: STAR WARS launched today along with an event at the Toys R Us in New York City, which unveiled the slew of toys and Halloween costumes tied in with the game. The merchandise will launch on October 28th while the game will hit iOS and Android on November 8th.

My kids are going to lose their minds when they find out about this. They love STAR WARS and Angry Birds. I am sure this will be a parent’s worst nightmare come Christmas since these are going to be amongst the hottest toys for kids. I can see a grandmother grappling with a fanboy for the last AT-AT walker on Black Friday.
