It was announced relatively recently that Bond’s next film SKYFALL would be getting the IMAX treatment, and now 20th Century Fox has followed suit with the announcement that PROMETHEUS will be receiving an IMAX 3D release on June 8th (same day as the 2D/3D non-IMAX version).

“’Ridley Scott is one of the best storytellers of our time, whose groundbreaking films Alien and Blade Runner changed the landscape of the science-fiction genre,’ said Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. ‘We’re excited about Prometheus and proud to add him to the prestigious list of directors whose films have been presented in IMAX.’

The IMAX release of Prometheus will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 3D Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.”

I’m just going to put this here and walk away slowly so as not to distract you:
