Sean Hood (CONAN THE BARBARIAN, THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER) has been involved with a potential “Rambo 5” for some time now, even going so far as to have written a script called RAMBO: LAST STAND. The project as a whole has been on hold for a while as Stallone did all sorts of other things, and when we last checked in six months ago some doubt was expressed as to whether another Rambo would even happen at all. Well, those amongst you excited for just such a movie can rest easy as Hood has gone on the Twitter record saying “Rambo 5 on hold as Sly finishes Expendables 2. He hasn’t decided if R5 will be an ‘Unforgiven’ or a ‘passing of the torch.'”
So there you have it – what this means in relation to Stallone signing on to THE TOMB I don’t know, but one of the main men involved seems to imply that movement is indeed happening. I suppose Stallone could do THE TOMB while Rambo’s script is re-written to fit whichever of the above-mentioned takes is chosen, then shoot the movie in late fall? Sly is pretty vocal with his fans, so now that Hood has spoken perhaps we’ll get some clarification from the main man himself.
