Brie Larson going back to school for 21 Jump Street

Brie Larson, she of SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD sexiness, has signed on to play the female lead in the upcoming action-comedy 21 JUMP STREET. Larson joins Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube in the remake of the old 80s TV series that Phil Lord and Chris Miller will direct.

While Larson joins the above mentioned actors, she’s the first actor cast who isn’t part of the Jump Street crew. She’ll star as Molly, a beautiful 18-year-old student at the high school that Hill and Tatum’s characters are undercover at (and who Hill’s Schmidt falls in love with).

This will mark the second time Larson will be speaking the dialogue of writer Michael Bacall, who also co-wrote SCOTT PILGRIM with Edgar Wright. If there’s one unsung hero of this movie that hasn’t even begun filming yet, it’s Bacall who managed to write a 21 JUMP STREET remake script that’s actually hilarious.

Filming on JUMP STREET is set to begin filming later this summer and honestly if you’re still concerned over whether Johnny Depp will make a cameo, get over it. This movie is gonna kick ass regardless of Depp.
