Hey, guess what? The Spider-Man musical has been delayed again!

If you’re a Spider-Man fan, the best news you’re gonna get is that Andrew Garfield looks pretty good in costume. Because if you’re waiting patiently for “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” to finally open, you’re going to have to wait even longer (again).

In what producers are calling the “final postponement” (why are you laughing?), the opening of the Broadway musical has been pushed back from February 7th to a new March 15th opening night. This would be the fifth time the opening of the musical has been pushed back.

So what now? Luckily no one has broken any more bones but the musical’s creative team “needs more time to fully execute the creative team’s vision,” producer Michael Cohl says. It was previously reported that Bono and U2 were returning to New York with their longtime producer Steve Lillywhite to fix up the songs and that the ending to the musical was being rewritten.

When “Spider-Man” finally does open, it will mark the longest preview period in Broadway history (the first run was on November 28th). The good news for the production is that the previews have been regularly selling out. But the question is, once these previews sell out, will there be anyone left still interested in paying to see it?
