Yep, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are doing Dark Shadows next year

JoBloJoBlo

It seems like we just reported this recently (and indeed we did), but now it’s been super-extra-verified: Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are finally making DARK SHADOWS.

Deadline says that work will start next April on the movie, one of Depp’s pet projects he’s been struggling for years to get on the big screen. This means that all the other things the actor has recently been rumored or pursued for (SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, THE THIN MAN, THE LONE RANGER, Kathryn Bigelow’s TRIPLE FRONTIER) will sit on the bench while Depp slips on the Barnabus fangs.

The cult shock-soap from the 1960s followed a Maine family dealing with bizarre and supernatural occurrences involving vampires, werewolves, ghosts, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks and time travel. The show lasted over a thousand episodes.

Writer Seth Grahame-Smith (PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES and ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER) is the latest guy to take a stab at the script, after Burton regular John August.
